I think this report is going to surprise the bulls again.
They dressed things up to look so well in front of the number.
I’d have cheap may puts on corn , wheat and beans.
May options are cheapest way to play the short side.
Plan acccordingly.

Another Leg Down for New Crop Corn
New crop Corn remains well below its 33 month Trend line of Doom. I don’t see anything baring an act of god or nature that will let us see 6.00 corn again for a very long time. We’d have to get a 4th year in a row of drought. That seems very unlikely to me.
CZ looks bound and determined to go down and get the $5.00 print. Today’s low settlement at $5.35 was the lowest in 10-months.
Corn has just had a baby, lol.
Old crop CK made a new low for the move CK has dropped $1.11 in 6 trading sessions. 15 % […]
Biggest 2 day drop in Corn History
Quick UpDate after the 11AM USDA report
The USDA found 400 million bushels of corn in the bins that no one thought we had. They found an additional 60 million bushels of beans. The wheat ending stocks were at the upper end of the range.
Result? CK LIMIT DOWN and the synthetic telling us there’s another 15 cents of down side, In other words, CK is really trading at 6.80.
We are heading into long weekend. Tomorrow, Good Friday, the markets is closed. Sunday night at 5PM the screen trade comes back.
There are a tremendous number of folks out there long old crop short new crop. They are bleeding […]
Last Week’s Grain Round Up

Corn made its high overnight around 2 AM, slid lower all morning til about 10AM, and then bounced back 7 cents from its lows. Informa released its updated estimate for corn acres at 97.753 million acres. This was 1.547 Million acres less than their January estimate of 99.3 Given the fact that old crop corn […]

Corn, Wheat, Beans, Cotton, US Dollar and the Dow
Corn: May corn settled up ½ cent at $7.17. CZ settled up 2 ½ cents at $5.61 ¾. For the week, old crop CK gained 17 cents while new crop CZ gained 13 ½ cents. May opened unchanged, quickly spiked down to an early morning low and then rebounded on relatively uneventful Friday trade. New crop corn rallied to its highest price in 3 weeks and led the afternoon rally. This looked like short covering at the end of the week combined with unwinding of some old crop/new crop […]

Buy June Gold with a tight stop
June gold has been cut off at the knees lately. 1557 looks to be support. Today we are at 15.81. Get long here, with a stop below 1560. Upside target: 1590, 1611 and then 1628.
I like being long old crop beans, corn and then wheat in that order.
That’s about all.

It only took 5-1/2 years to get even
October 2007. Til March of 2013. That’s how long it took a sit and wait to get even. And you only had to ride it down to 6500. 14,270 has been the high so far.
I’d be wary to step in front of this freight train. With interest rates at zero, commodities suddenly “risky” or “politically incorrect” ( how can you profit if people have to pay more for corn, wheat, beans, or worst of all…. oil and gas). That seems to be the pejorative play on commodities today.
We’ve seen wholesale movement of money flow ($FLOW) out of the meat complex. Barclay’s Bank was […]
