47 million people pay no income taxes.   Will those that earn continue to invest and have faith in the US economy?

While that was a scary buy and SX traded to  a low at 15.03,  certainly 3 cents of heat was worth the rally up to 15.25 3/4.  As I write this is trading at 15.23  20 cents a contract is $1,000.00 a contract

1) Take profits in 1/3, move protective stops on the rest up to 15.14.  Worse case on this move you made 15 cents on some,  have a guaranteed 8 cents on the rest.  I’d sell more at 15.33, with final upside target of between 15.53 and 15.60.

Last night’s low was 15.09 in SX.  15.06 is technical support.
I don’t anticipate much trade at all today in front of Tuesday’s election day.
Probably a good day to sit on the sidelines, or trade very small in the grains.

Crud Oil is lower today.  December crud is below 85.00 a barrel.  Interesting that we have a ton of resistance at 110. and good support at 80.00
If we get a break down to 80.00 in the crude,  you have to buy it.

My guess they will run this stuff back up after the election.

12,969 was the low from Thursday .  That still held. Today’s low was 12,988.   Thankfully, I had stops in place above that, so worse case scenario, we made some money.  .  I am still long.  We settled below 13000 at 12,991,  but I am willing to take about 150 pts heat.

Today’s unemployment number, while heralded as a beautiful sign from MSNBC, NPR and the rest of the left cheering section….  was sloughed off by the markets.  The markets are not political.  The market is a graphic representation of not only people’s opinions, but their actions.   As such,  I am not paying too much attention to this […]

This is supporting markets.   Ditto for ideas that the re-building after Sandy will spur demand for Loews, Home Depot: Supportive.   Its also the first of the month which means new money coming into the markets on inflows into 401K’s.

No change in recommendations.  Hope you are long the Dow against 13,000.  Currently, the high is 13,212.  Looking to lighten up longs at 13,300 and then 13,400.

Raise your sell stops in Dow Futures and sit tight.
Should be long here around the 13,000 level , if you’ve been following along.  I thought you might have to take up to 150 ticks heat.  So far the low of the moon was 12,926 so far.  That’s only 74 ticks worth of heat, so you shouldn’t have gotten stopped out.
I have 13,300 and then 13,400 as sell targets.

If you are in the path, I hope by now you have taken steps to protect what’s near and dear to you.

As for the markets,   most likely, the Stock indexes will be closed for at least another 48 hours, but that’s going to change on a day to day basis.

Today, the corn held tough, as the beans took it on the chin.  Quite honestly, I think its probably best to sit tight. 
Liquidity is going to be absent until we get the storm addressed.

I have been long DJZ here.  That is no news. I suggested there might be a 150 pt window of heat.  So far, the low in DJZ was 12,937:  That’s just 63 points.
The S&P also traded to to key support at the psychologically important 1400 level. Today’s low was 1394.70, and we bounced back to settle at 1407.

Hurricane Sandy is on its way. We will have light volume probably through Wednesday.  I’d be looking for a light volume rally.  But that’s been my idea for a week here.  Lets see if it pans out.
